Artwork created from adversity

Given that this is an art blog, you might be wondering about the relevance of this title to the website's theme. However, to shed some light on this, on May 7th, 2022, I took my daughters roller-skating and unfortunately had an accident. This incident led to six months of physical therapy to address my back injury.

Here is the story:

Under the sunny and breezy sky of our state of Florida, people were out on the trail, relishing the beautiful day, engaging in workouts, and getting ready for summer. The leaves swirled in the wind until time suddenly seemed to come to a standstill. I tumbled to the ground (my arms were grasped by faeries, but gravity proved to be stronger) landing between the trail and the grass. A sharp, intense pain shot from my left hip to the center of my chest. Speechless and unable to shed a tear, my breathing slowed as all my strength ebbed away. My initial instinct was to call out for my daughters, who were out of earshot, yet my voice failed me. I could only take deep breaths, trying to regain enough energy to rise to my feet. As I struggled to stand up after falling, a kind lady approached me to offer help. My children quickly came to my aid when they saw me on the ground. With their assistance, I managed to remove my unicorn skin roller skates, took a deep breath, and heaved my ten-thousand-pound body off the ground. After walking about a hundred steps, I reached the nearest seat in the park. Despite calling my husband for backup, he was an hour away at work and instructed me to wait for him. Unable to stay put, I rose from the bench and began the journey back home with my daughters. Our fifteen minute walk felt like an eternity , and by the time my husband arrived to pick us up, it seemed to me like three hours of walking had passed. I took a few more steps before he parked the car and assisted me inside, knowing those were the last steps I could manage for the day.

The following day, my inspiration had disappeared, leaving me with only the determination to pick myself up and continue moving forward. I had lost my inspiration.

Ultimately, life is determined by your approach to each challenge. If you choose to resonate with negativity, you will face difficulties. Life is a series of ups and downs, but it's essential to find the strength within to rise after a fall.

Although I'm eager to roller skate again, my husband has bought me a bike instead. As I ride along the trail, I embrace life and continue moving forward.

After my painful charade was over I started painting again and created "Rebirth" an chose to paint a lotus flower as my first subject; Lotuses hold a deep symbolic meaning of rebirth and enlightenment, inspiring us to embrace new beginnings with every cycle. No matter how many times they are painted, each lotus flower shines with its own unique personality and light. They are not just images on canvas; they come to life and radiate their own energy !

Through the 2023 year after my life challenge; I filled my inspiration with lotuses. The paintings below are a testaments of resilience and beauty emerging from life's challenges.
