Abstract landscape study

Abstract Landscape Study

This week I have been going back to my roots of painting semi abstracts. The color palette of the year was the inspiration to make this mixed media studies. This palette is out of my comfort zone but anyway went with it.

Using watercolor, acrylics, and gloss as the medium; To obtain transparent glazes with the acrylics and protect the watercolor from getting damaged with water.

Creating a semi-abstract painting, a contrasting composition of movement and light.

You wont believe that artist that use eyeglasses have a little bit of advantage over the those who don't to paint abstracts.

We can distinguish the contrast of light and shadows better than those who don't.

So glasses off, brushed on hand started working with my reference photo while applying paint to the watercolor paper. It turned out great I enjoyed it very much.

The next day; Another idea came to my artsy mind...

While scanning the painting to put it on the web, an idea of having a different version of the painting will also be fun. So cropping the image, in different points, incorporated digital painting to the studies to see how was their outcome.
Also tried the same principle of painting without glasses for the digital studies

I have never tried this before because I'm more a traditional ; lets say I AM very committed to to to my to handmade pledge as visual artist. traditional painting is more fun. Oh well, technology! Digital painting not so fun but here they are. Which one is you favorite?

Thanks for reading!
